In Nevada only 2 counties do visual and "sniffer" test every year! I live in one of the 2, Washoe and Clark counties. It sucks....

I used to be an emissions tester in massachusetts and I believe any truck 08+ under 10k gvwr was plugged into obd2 and over 10k got a snap test that was mentioned earlier also with a visual(check the front end, lights, tint etc). older than that is just a visual. Although over 10k I believe there was a snap test cannot remember. most of the older trucks are under 10k gvwr mostly.
