along the lines of EGR's, does the plate(s) totally eliminate the concerns too? I mean, without removing the 50 pounds of hardware, do the block off plates (which I understand are easy to install) eliminate the issue of possible cooler ruptures?
I know.. stupid questions.. But, I gotta get a grip on this truck before I start working on her..
No. With the block of plates it just stops the exhaust gases from flowing in the coolers. The coolers will still flow hot coolant. Its best to take off the coolers also and replace the intake elbow
