ERG delete needed with H&S Mini
From my understanding the H&S mini does a computerized ERG block off. If so do I really need to do an ERG delete?

You don't need to physically remove the egr & coolers but doing so eliminates the possibility of something still failing like the coolers rupturing for example.

A lot of work is needed to do that so I was wondering. I might wait until I do head studs when the factory warranty runs out in February.

If you were planning on lifting the cab to do studs then the egr delete would be a ton easier to do.

Just curious if you already have your H&S mini??? If not, I'd come up with a plan "B"...

I do, along with a tuner (H&S mini), exhaust, and intake.

Most vendors still have many in stock. In a month or two they will become hard to find but there is still time to get an "offroad" tuner.

along the lines of EGR's, does the plate(s) totally eliminate the concerns too? I mean, without removing the 50 pounds of hardware, do the block off plates (which I understand are easy to install) eliminate the issue of possible cooler ruptures?
I know.. stupid questions.. But, I gotta get a grip on this truck before I start working on her.. |

All the tuner does is stop the EGR valve function, with out physically removing the EGR system there is no way to prevent the failure of it. The valve being disabled just prevents the exhaust soot from reentering the motor. The coolers will still have exhaust flowing through them and dead heading into back side of the EGR valve, as well as coolant flowing through them as well.
