New to the 6.4 need some mod help
Well I've recently bought a 6.4 with 60k miles 6" lift on 37's, I bought a live wire and the DPF/DOC delete pipes I'm running KEM 250 tune. I've been wanting to go with some higher HP tunes been talking to Vivian over at quicktricks and Matt over at Gear Head for the tunes. What I'm trying to get at is what supporting mods should I do before jumping into the big tunes so I don't run into problems down the road?

S&B or AFE intake and you could do EGR / EGR cooler delete EGR Delete is recommended but not necessary i dont think.. i still have mine in place and run some of the higher HP tunes from gearhead, kem and IDP w/o issue. but def get an intake. you'll notice a difference right away even on the lower HP tunes.

5" exhaust helps as well.
It depends how deep your pockets are. To be safe studs would be good, but as long as you aren't stupid with sub 600HP the stock bolts are alright. Sent from my iPhone using Autoguide.com App |

Stock head bolts and transmission are going to be the weak link for you with a big tune. Those 37's are a huge strain.

I plan on doing a EGR delete down the road, I came from having two 6.0L's the 6.4 is definitely new waters for me. I've been seeing EGR deletes with wastegates and the CAC pipe is that necessary? As far as studs go though I'm not sure if I want to bite the bullet on that just yet.

You should do studs before you think about leaving that KEM 250 tune. I ran that tune for 20k trouble free miles. Then put the hotdamn 300 and blew my gaskets on 20 mins.

KEM 345 and Gearheads Hot Street are my favorites... gearhead tunes are practically smoke free.. my kem345 smokes like crazy but i like the power and shifting.
