Exhaust, Deletes, and Programmer
I have a 2008 F350 Dually that I want to upgrade. The truck currently has 64,000 miles and the warranty runs out in Feb. I use my truck to haul my 12,000 lb 5th wheel RV so I am mainly interested in longevity and mileage. I understand the importance of deleting the EGR coolers and the DPF in which case requires a programmer. What else do I need to do to achieve my goal? What brand do I need to go with? Do I need to replace the whole exhaust or just the DPF?
Thanks Scott |

I recommend an intake (AFE or S&B), tuner, at least a downpipe back exhaust, EGR cooler delete (any will work), an aftermarket intercooler pipe and intake elbow, and possibly a 4" downpipe. You may also want to consider an intercooler if you tow often.
I recommend the Spartan Phalanx tuner. If you have any questions, let me know! |

Spartan, H&S or DPF-R+. First two will set you back about $640-$1k+ each, the last under $500. All do the job well.

I would go with an H&S Mini Maxx, XRT Pro, or Spartan Phalanx for the tuner. The Mini Maxx is by far our top seller and what we recommend most. For the exhaust, MBRP is the best fitting kits we have found, though Diamond Eye makes a good budget kit as well. We also suggest getting an S&B air intake kit to help with airflow. The EGR can be handled a few different ways, but we feel its best to get rid of the coolers completely as well as replace the restrictive factory elbow. We have our own kit fo rthat and feel its the best option on the market.
Feel free to give us a holler wit any questions or if youd like a quote. |
