EGR/wastegate and downpipe-back exhaust compatiblity

I am planning to do

• H&S mini max
• aFe Intake
• aFe intercooler
• CAC pipe and elbow
• EGR delete / Wastegate + prewelded downpipe
• downpipe-back 4" exhaust

Are pre-welded downpipes compatible with downpipe exhaust? I was planning to do 4" exhaust. Do I need some sort of adapter? Should I get flanged exhaust?

All a pre-welded downpipe has differently from a regular downpipe is the pre-welded opening for the wastegate kit to dump the pressure.

If you are looking at a specific pre-welded downpipe, you will want to be sure that the wastegate kit you purchase matches that downpipe. If you were to purchase a pre-welded downpipe from Street Diesel Performance, you would also want to purchase their wastegate kit so that it matches correctly.

That makes sense. I am concerned about the bottom of the downpipe and the exhaust. What type of connection is on the bottom of most downpipes?

Ball/socket style. Most downpipes will hook right up to downpipe back exhaust systems.
