250 VS HD 300 tune
I've done a little searching, and couldn't really find to much, but how much of a difference is there between the two tunes? I have been running the 250 for awhile now and was thinking about upgrading to the HD tunes. Keep in mind I don't have studs.. yet haha

I don't have studs either and I have been daily driving the hot damn 300 tune for the past 7-8k miles and no problems except for traction

What do you run your low boost fuel setting on? smoke alot? fuel mileage?

Left it at default which is right in the middle. Smoke isn't bad especially once you get use to the power it's very easy to control, my bumper doesnt have any soot on it so it isn't too smokey or I just don't hammer on it but some people I see have the back corner covered in soot. Fuel mileage you can't really take mine into consideration because I'm basically all city and towing but I see about a 14mpg average hand calculated, my dash says 13.3mpg but I have never reset it. I could prolly do better but what's the point in all this power if ya dont use it lol

Yea I hear ya! well I may just have to see how much of a difference this 300 tune makes when I have time to do it

I just towed a small 5x8 inclosed trailer filled with food and luggage for vacation about 630 miles. The best mileage I saw was 12.6 MPG's running 70-80. That was running the Hot Damn 300. In town I normally get 10-11 on the highway no trailer the best I have ever gotten was 20.6 but normally 15-17

I run the hot damn on the hwy and no power in town. I don't care what anyone says that300 sucks fuel in town, on the hwy I get 17-18 though.

running 250 until i get studs just for peace of mind.

Studs are a piece of mind, but they really arent needed unless you are going to run a big 345 tune and hammer on it all the time.

i hear ya blackcloud. ive read too many posts from owners who blew HGs on lower tunes or had blown HGs without seeing changes on gauges. i guess it depends on the tuner.
