First Diesel, Need Help/Advice on Mods

Getting my first diesel truck, a Job 1 '08 CC/SWB KR with 93000 miles. Looking to do some mods to it in order to increase reliability,mpgs,etc..

I am thinking of an EGR delete, DPF delete, air intake, and a tuner.

I am open to suggestions for brands, etc... that would work well.

Also I have read some posts about possible head gasket issues with the higher HP tunes and some issues with the TCM and or torque converter.

Like I said, first diesel, and open to suggestions!!

Thanks in advance

Sounds like your on the right track with your mods. For your tuner I like mini max, the egr delete is Sinister Diesel, S&B for the intake, and the dpf either diamond eye or afe are the cheaper ones.

I have a spartan, diamond eye delete, flopro egr delete. Can't really go wrong as long as you do some research. Check out my mod thread if you want some easy mod ideas. But beware it does turn into an addiction.

Those are great mods to do. Some other mods i would consider for longevity are airdog, ccv reroute and coolant filter.

Do you guys think it is a better idea to do an EGR delete or buy the upgraded EGR coolers from bulletproof??

Pros/Cons???

if you dont have emissions testing i would delete. You should see how dirty the intake system gets with the egr.

I have heard that alot of people end up losing coolant soon after they delete. Are those two related?

I haven't lost any coolant. I would go delete rather than bulletproof coolers.

And as far as list goes, it can keep getting longer and longer depending on how deep your pockets are lol. It becomes an addiction.
