new 6.4 owner

whats going on guys. Well i just bought my truck like a month ago i really love it. its 08 lariat edition "sport" its not 4x4 but i really dont care about 4x4. it has 45k completely stock. ive been around diesel trucks all my life (i own a truck company) but never owned a diesel truck. Ive always owned sport cars. i needed a new dd. went to carmax and bought the truck. Luckily i met the original owner, a older gentle man in his 70's. same day i went to see another truck he was their selling the truck to carmax. carmax bought the car and owned it for 3 days and i bought it after.

the guy told me @ carmax i could do dpf delete and tune.
i wanted to ask a quick question, my friend is selling me a xrt pro programmer unlocked but it came off a 09 dodge cummins. i wanted to buy it , could i use it?? is good on the tranny are they good? i also want to use the stock exhaust but i only want to delete the dpf which kit should i use for a good price??

if you have a used tuner and you want to sell it, shoot me a pm.

thanks for your time

Only thing I know about the 6.4 is, when tuned and lightly modded correctly they will blister most anything out there and can get good fuel mileage, if you keep your foot out of it!!

check the H&S performance website, H&S Performance
contact them and they can tell you.
as far as exhaust go to Performance Truck Products - DPF Delete Kits & Diesel Performance Parts from MBRP, H&S, EDGE, Diamond Eye, Banks, BullyDog
and get the cat/dpf delete pipes, not a full exhaust, you can get them for about $150, diamond eye, mbrp, silverline what ever brand you prefer.

tuner

I'm running a H&S tuner on mine and could not be more pleased. Please take the time to check them out, you will be glad you did. The 6.4 is awesome and if you follow what the other folks on this site have done you can't go wrong.

The 6.4s are stout. I'm running the spartan 300 on stock heads and I know a guy who has run the 310 on stock head studs for a long time. Just don't be stupid. If you want piece of mind and don't want to have to think about it. Stay under 210.

Do a spartan or H&S intake, with DoC/DPF delete pipe and an S&B intake. That will e your cheapest mod package for quality. It'll run about $1500, but my tune saves me $800 a year in fuel alone.
