dpf delete and filter back pipe or full system?

Is there a sound/performance difference between a dpf/cat delete pipe + filter back 4 or 5" and a full exhaust system without a muffler? I live in MI and there currently isn't emission tests to warrent swapping the filter delete pipe with the dpf/cat for testing.

I would go with a full 4" or 5" downpipe back exhaust.

Do you get more power witht the 5 over the 4" or is it just sound? Whats a good reputable system to look into?

5" looks and sounds better. No improvement in performance though. Flo-Pro 5" or AFE 4" would be my choice.

I have had both and ended up putting just the dpf delete only back on. I am in Cali and wanted to reduce the noise at idle, and also wanted something under there (cat).

You won't gain any power with a 5" over a 4" unless your putting down better than 650 hp to the wheels. But for the sound I would go with a 5" no muffler on a 6.4 .

BTW AFE also make a really nice 5" kit for the 6.4 now.

Well, I just bought my 6.4 and it already has a magnaflow 5" filter back system with a small muffler on it. It doesnt have a dpf but it does have the cat still on it. Where is a good place to look for a cat/dpf delete pipe to replace the cat that is on my truck?

Also on a side note, I have a sct tune on the truck now with the dpf delete. Is the cat already deleted in the trucks computer when you program the dpf delete in it. So I can just remove the cat and not throw any codes? I dont have the cables for the tuner or else I would be playing around with it. In the process of getting them now.

We have several different brands of these pipes on the site, also with the offroad tuning no changes are needed for the cat being removed.
