Any gains from intake in addition to Mini Maxx

I have been running the Mini Maxx for 6 months now and absolutely love it. I have had it set on the Hot Damn 300 tune as my daily driver. I am running the stock air filter and wondering if adding an after market air filter will help mileage/hp ? Are the gains noticeable?

It should help with mileage. The more air the better! Plus it will help so the filter minder doesnt get sucked in on a hard run on the hot damn tune.

I'm surprised you're not pulling in the filter minder already!

The stock intake cant keep up with the bigger tunes. I think you will see some decent gains going with an S&B or AFE intake kit.

I like my AFE STAGE 2 SI, pick up a little milage and smokes less than running stock intake an filter.

Gotta disagree with that one....I have the Elite 71 turbo. I have ran as high a program as the H&S 250 on AFE St II 5r filter and never sucked in my filter minder. I am sure I will need to upgrade to custom setup if I start running bigger tunes, but I don't know of anyone else running that turbo or bigger that doesn't suck it in. The filter minder being sucked it means the turbo isn't getting enough air so damage will be done to the turbo if you consistently suck it. Like Fatboy04 said, the more air the better and from what I have seen, the S&B flows a little less. Make no mistake, I think the S&B is great system for the money.

We have had great success running our intake along side our tuning. Our truck makes a few HP over 600 on the Hot Damn 300 tune. It's pushed very hard running a 10" lift with 40's.
