MiniMaxx Defuel parameters???
Recently did a dpf delete for my uncle on his 08 F-450 and used the MiniMaxx for tuning. I have an 08 F-250 and had done the delete and tuned with an SCT Livewire Extreme. The MiniMaxx seems to have quite a few more features and settings than my SCT that seemed really cool like defueling and shift on the fly tuning. My question is, does anyone have any suggestions for the defueling safety parameters. The default for EGT's is 1450 deg. There are also options for trans temp, coolant temp, oil temp, ect, however, by default most of them are not enabled. I know that EGT is probably the most important. Just not sure what is considered safe on the other temps. He uses the truck for towing 90% of driving time pulling a 34' goose neck, 4 horse slant, with camper/ living quarters. He estimated it to weigh 15K+. Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

The H&S recommended Default Defuel settings:
EGT - 1450 Hot Coolant - 220 Cold Coolant - 160 Trans - 230 Boost 6.4 - 38psi I use: EGT - 1450 Hot Coolant - 220 Cold Coolant - 180 Trans - 230 Oil - 230 Boost 6.4 - 40psi |

question on cold coolant setting
New to all this. What is the reasoning for a cold coolant defueling setting?

I use mine to prevent running my Hot Damn/Hot tune until the engine (coolant) is warmed up to at least 180F...

Thanks. So if I understand, the truck won't run the tune if the parameters are outside of the default settings? What tune will it use?

Good question. The only 2 defuels I've hit so far are coolant temp and boost. When below the coolant temp setpoint, it runs in No Tune mode, which for Hot Damn I think is still +50hp. When I hit the boost limit it kind of bogs to maintain at the parameter. The others I don't know about.

Thanks. That gives me a good idea where to start. I had searched the forums and had not found anything on it yet. Will adjust his set points next time I see my uncle.
