Ported Heads

Well my truck is in the shop for suspected blown head gasket/cracked head and since its out of warranty, regardless if the head is shot or not, and they will taking the injectors and heads off it might be a great time to do some performance mods.

I was planning on running a set of elites 60hp injector tips, ported rails, and the airdog fuel system, but my real question comes to the heads. I've noticed only two companies offering ported heads which are elite and empire diesel. Elite diesel seems to be offering their porting service for $3945 with a $2000 core charge depending if my heads come out ok. Empire has the "hot competition" port for $2000 but nothing saying core charge on the head. Obviously depending on core charge empire seems to be the cheaper option, but was wondering if anyone had an opinion on either one of the setups or knew another company that offered a porting service? I'm not looking to make 1000+hp, but make some good reliable power to tow with.Thanks

i plan on doing the same set up but im not going to port my heads. You might want to look into push rods to. Cant you just tear your heads now and have someone port and polish them? I know i have had it done on mustangs
