DPF Delete and Tuner Selection Questions
Howdy All,
Recently entered the Powerstroke world with a 2008 Crew Cab Long Bed, that was a company truck where I work. I love the truck and everything about it. It has 148K on it and to me runs great, but like everyone I am looking to get a bit better gas mileage and all this talk about the DPF and the issues it can cause down the road have me looking to do a delete and reprogram. I understand the delete pipe but what I am questioning is the programmer, I am leaning towards the SCT models simply because Summit sells them and I live 20 minutes away. What model number would you recommend? Do all of the SCT programmers allow you to turn off the regen? Also are the EGR deletes as necessary on the 6.4Z as they were on the 6.0L? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I got such a great deal ont he truck that I am willing to drop some money on it to extends its life. Thank you in advance for any input. |

you will need a livewire 9625OR or a 9621OR or a 3025OR, the OR is the part that gives the dpf delete option, SCT does not make them anymore but they

If you got the cash id do a full exhaust, cold air intake, and tuner. Spartan, h&s, or scare all good tuners. If you get sct you will need something for gauges. I would also get custom tunes not the canned tunes.
