Delete + Tuner ordered! What tune to run?
Hey guys. I ordered my mini maxx, diamond eye 5" dp back, and afe pg7 intake last night from ptp. I ordered it with the intention of getting some better mileage and better life out of the truck. That being said, what power tune and trans tune would you guys suggest?

Im sure some people will chime in with their recommendations, but the best thing to do is to drive the truck in all the different settings for a while to see what works best for you. Each truck is a little different and so are peoples driving styles so what works best for one will not be the best for another. |

Are all the power levels on the mini maxx pretty safe for a truck without studs?

I DD the H&S HOTDAMN 300 tune on the wild or hot setting. Get great mileage and a ton of power. Congrats I have the same package.

How long would you say it takes to get everything installed and running?

10 min - beer
45 min - Intake 10 min - beer 30 min - Tuner 20 min - beer (+ time to think about this one) 3 hours - Exhaust 15 min - champagne (+ old lady beeching about smoking up your driveway) Good luck!! And congrats on your soon to be "new" truck. Make sure you do the exhaust last. |

My diamond eye exhaust was a biotch. I didnt get the right bolts for the DP to the first delete pipe. Then, I had the wrong over the axle piece. One of the hangers on the intermediate pipe are just hanging there not in a hanger. My tail pipe hanger is barely in the last hanger of the truck. I am going to have to heat it up and bend it to get it in the hanger better. It was a pain. I wish I would of went with Flo-pro. I dont know if that would of been a better choice but the diamond was bad I thought. Fitment was not great either. Great price tho haha

I went with the diamond eye after hearing quite a few people say the diamond eye was as good as the flo pro at a better price.

![]() As far as the tune you will want to run... when you download the first time you will have the 'Mild' tune and the S1L or S1M trans tune. Refer to the H&S website for the different trans tunes available. The S1 tunes (S1L, S1M, S1H) all have the TCLockup in 4th as well as 5th gear...personal preference will prevail here after you get settled...go to 'show settings' to see whats in the tuner. While the S2 tunes only have a 5th gear TCLockup...alot of local putting around sometimes makes the S1 4th gear TCLock annoying to some...while others love it...like I said ..it will come down to what you like in the end. Be sure to check your trans fluid level prior to doing your trans re-learn. Most of us expierence a rough 3rd to 4th gear shift for the first 100+mi after any re-learn/download...you may not. The "HOTDAMMMMM" is Hot...and loose, very fast..... and you have to mind yourself abit ....and you will get some black (delightful) smoke regardless of what you set your LBF (lower boost fueling) at....default is-3-. LBF can only be changed during install/download procedures.The 'Mild' tune; that's the default; is quite powerful and fun...i run it on the 'Hot' setting...and i don't get into to much trouble (Riiiiggghhht One note....when you do update/change tunes on the SD card ...do it on a PC that has a hard line to your internet provider (not a wireless) it goes faster and is complete. You can change your 'Defuel' settings on the fly ....default is 1450*...you will hit it quick in the 'Hot" setting...it will beep before going into defuel mode ...which will stop as soon as your temps drop... When you do change/update your SD card ..don't forget to update you 'Firmware' on your Mini Maxxxx prior to installing the tune on your truck. Your in for a lot of fun

I believe i can set several defuel settings for both high and low limits, correct? I'm led to believe it might be smart to set both a high and low limit on eot and ect, what would you set them?
