6.4 does a egr delete need an external wastegate?

Just updating my 6.4 with a intake elbow, egr delete, and down pipe. Do I need an external wastegate as well? What are the pros and cons of the external wastegate?

I plan on running the extreme street tune from innovative diesel.

Has anyone had any problems with cruise control after the installing the intake elbow?

thanks

I don't run a wastegate on my personal truck. Mods are in my signature. No issues at all.

I don't have stock head bolts. I have Elite 1722-A head studs by A1 Technologies.

I think stock head bolts are fine up to our 210 tune, but above that is hit or miss. I rarely hear of blown head gaskets with our 250 tune, but it has happened. The 275, 300, 310, and 350 tunes can all aide in blowing head gaskets. Your right foot will determine if and when it happens typically.

I recommend studding any truck that is going to be daily driven at north of 500 RWHP. I also recommend deleting the EGR coolers and adding a free flowing intercooler pipe and intake elbow. You'll be happy you did all of this once it's done.
