Mini Maxx install Question

Hey guys, I'm new to the board and wanted to say I have found the info to be second to none. After lots of research, I decided to mod my new to me 08 F350. I bought a Mini Maxx tuner, S&B intake and a downpipe back MBRP exhaust. Intall is tomorrow. My Question is do i have to ground the 12v power source? In the instruction it say hook it up to the purple wire. Only problem is the plug has 2 wires. 1 red which should be hot and 1 black which should be a ground. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanx in advance.

When I got mine it only had one wire, the red, exposed and I hooked it up to the purple under the dash and the unit turns on and off with the key.

I'm pretty sure the black wire is unnecessary. My cord has both black and red wires but the black is cut back...

Not to hijack but I loaded mine today and just used the default tunes. I'll have the DPF on until Sunday but wanted to make sure the tune loaded.

Is it the easy tunes that I would be running as the basic tune or is it something different? There is a definte power addition that makes it scoot pretty good but after I get the DPF off I imagine it will be even better.

The black wire is definitely not necessary.

Black wire on mine was cut even with insulation so I ignored it. As mentioned, not needed.

The default tunes come with the unit. If easy or hot damn are wanted they will have to come from the h and s website. Same with any transmission tunes I believe. I am not sure if it comes with any transmission tunes loaded on it when new but there are 6 of them available there

The power wire should only have the red wore exposed as that is the only one needed. If the black wire is also exposed, disregard it.

Transmission tunes have to be downloaded and DPF removed.
