Up Pipes

I have a failing head gasket so the cab is coming off. I know some people have had up pipe failures and others don't (I haven't to date but I didn't have a head gasket problem until a week ago), but I really don't want to have to pull the cab again so I am thinking of upgrading the up pipes and manifolds while the cab is off. If anyone has tried any of the aftermarket ones, I would love to hear what ya think of them.

2008 F350 ZF6 daily driver
No Limits CAI and every air mod, MM w/ GH, DPF/CAT delete 5", Sean's 4" DP, SB DD 3850, Coolant Filter, Bushwacker flares, 2.5" Icon level, SD inserts tailgate/grill, PMF Tbars w/ 5" block, Elite EGR delete, Junior High Power Atmo, ARP studs, A-1000 (Marty's), Fuel Bowl Delete, 15% nozzles, Tial WG

What about steed speed manifolds and custom up pipes? I think thats what Erik from PTP is running.

08 F350 cc/sb 4X4
h&s minimaxx, 5" flo pro, 4" down pipe, no limit cold air intake, dirty diesel EGR delete with intake elbow, 6.0 exhaust manifolds, custom up pipes, ported intake manifold, Apex 71mm LP turbo, Rudy's cold side pipe, diesel site coolant and transmission filter, diesel site intercooler boots, ccv mod, bilstein shocks, gogo dd solenoid, HID lights, Airdog II 165, PMF traction bars, PMF drag link, moshimoto aluminum radiator

They would be great on a truck with big turbos and big fuel, but they are overkill on a basically stock truck.

Oh ok. That makes sense. If i ever have to i will just go with 6.0 manifolds and up pipes. I dont have plans for crazy power. Just reliability.

Yeah. $1,000 just for manifolds is steep when you only make 550-600 at the most. Those manifolds require custom up-pipes as well. Not a cheap option by any means.

Those things are tough as h#ll. When I saw the price on them before, I thought was with the up pipes (seemed to good to be true).

I am hoping to come across someone who has actually one or two of them to see what they perform like. I assume more flow would mean lower EGTs when towing, but I am not sure if the back pressure PSI was lower due to larger pipes if that would actually slow the spool up if you are stock on fuel side of the equation. Anyone know?
