well unfortunately right now their isnt a lot out for the 08... a few companies are working on tunes to disable the regen mode so that you can take off the DPF and the cat for more hp... i know 1 person on here has done it and is running a custom tune and is getting way beter HP and MPG numbers.... you could always just do an intake to let in some more air... AFE has a nice kit out for the new superdutys

To be honest I really can't remember, but I do remember it seemed like the truck kinda struggled at highway speed when I would hammer it at about 55 to 70......but now with the programmer, it pulls and then it hits third and it doesn't pull as hard then it hit fourth and it kicks in again... kinda like a small shot of NOS

Are you in the Tow mode or performance?

As the others have said an aftermarket intake and exhaust are a good place to start. That way once the aftermarket catches up to the new engine you will have the basics out of the way.

It has to be something with the programming cause I can mat the pedal in mine and it pulls hard all through the gears. 1-2 are really close together and 3rd is a little taller but it still pulls hard. What I have noticed though is if the tires are spinning or doing a small burnout the truck will just stop if the rpms get to high. I know the new ones have an option for traction control but mine doesnt have it and it still kill the power. I wonder if that might have something to do with it

You don't even need to spend anymore money right now all you have to do is install the Hypertech Stage 3 tuning, and get a rematch with that Duramax. With all 3 stages of Hypertech power tuning the EGTs are so low you can still tow up to the manufactures suggested limit. Stage 1 tuning only gives you 44 HP & 72 TQ over stock while Stage 3 tuning gives you 114 HP & 188 TQ over stock. Try that and let us know what a diffrence the power makes.

are we talking hypertech max energy? Ive been eyein them, because of the claims for mileage and also towing on highest setting.
