Big Three Beef

Ok guys i am the only one of my friends who went with a ford. the other guys drive a cummins or duramax, now that being said i am being told from them that my truck will not hold up to a tuner intake and exhaust! also that the head gaskets are week and i quote you never see a cummins or a dmax in the shop for head gaskets. So my question to you guys is will my 6.4 hold up to the mods and why is it that fords always get the bad rep out of the 3?

Your truck will hold up better and make more power than their trucks with a tuner/intake/exhaust setup. The only concern I would have if I were you is the head gaskets simply because you have huge tires. Sounds like to me that they have mistaken your truck for a 6.0L though.

Your friends are just trying to scare you into not running it hard so you don't embarrass them everytime they pull up next to you. Your truck will absolutely blow them away every time, without question. I'm Spartan tuned so I don't know the specifics of the H&S tunes but you don't need to take it to the max to beat your buds. Keep the tune reasonable and you'll easily beat them without putting your truck in harms way. Any vehicle will break down if beat on it repeatedly, same with your truck. If you repeatedly pound on it the day might come to stud it, but considering what they have to spend to get to our power levels I'd say it all evens out in the end ... and that's assuming you do have to eventually stud it. I'd guess the majority of us on here aren't studded and are still daily driving strong!!

Well as far as which of the three is faster i personaly built the dodge its a 6.7 with blackmaxx, fuel plug, egr delete, down pipe, afe intake, grid heater delete, 5 inch exhaust, H&s intake horn, trans tune, running 225 hot. The dmax is running juice with attitude, egr delete, and 4 inch exhaust. and the dmax beat the dodge by a 1/2 a truck in the 1/8. duramax being a lbz. but i just dont wanna break i dont have plans on running them down a track with my lifted 6.4 on 37s but will do a little 4lane action if the roads arent busy, i just want my truck to last me im very proud of my truck and take pride in the performance and apperance.

the 37's will slow you down a bit, but you should be able to smoke them with a H&S mini maxx, dpf delete, CAI no prob, and tranny will do just fine on these trucks, I have run a few 1/4 miles with boosted launch on the 300 Hot Damn tune and plenty of highway races against camaros and mustangs and mine is still kicking fine and dandy.

sell the lift and big tires and your truck will last awhile lol. You wont have any problem beating them unless they have built trannys. I race a dirty max stock tranny and i beat him a month later he put a built tranny in and i lost so that will make the difference
