South Bend Clutch

So I started doin my buddies clutch today at my shop. Putting a Twin disc South Bend in his 08 F450! What a nice piece this thing seems to be and man am i excited to drive it Also doin the egr delete while its on the lift

Spartan,Afe,Mbrp Delete with duals,Banks Intercooler,Custom CCV Mod,22.5 American Forces,Flo Pro egr delete,Lots of Strobes,Atomic Strobes,5%Tint and 20% Windshield Tint,B&W gooseneck,K3LA Train horns and some other goodies, Head studs and waste gate coming this spring
2001 F350 Flatbed/Car Hauler, Ext Cab,07 Front End w/Cowl Hood,SCT Tuned,MBRP Straight pipe
92 Mustang Lx Hatch X275 Drag Radial been low 7's
03 Cobra with a lil extra boost

They are noisy, but it will hold some power.

Yea I love my auto and I dont get why anyone would buy one of these trucks with a stick but hey what ever pays my bills ... Truck was just blowing through the clutch so this should be nice but I can't imagine towing a 50ft trailer through New York City like we do alot on and off that pedal... Hell my mustang is enough work to drive!

All dual disk clutches are loud, I had a 3250 in my last goat. 3rd gear boosted 4x4 launches wouldnt slip it, but the goat was only makin 518 hp. Imho they are alot better than the vallair.

Turned out i found a crack in the bellhousing so i spent a few hours tig welding it last night last and finished the truck today but didnt drive it yet bc im waiting on transfer case fluid

South Bend knows their stuff, we have never had any issues with them.

I have a single disk ceramic South Bend. Pulls my 5ver with a 100hp tune. No slip. It is noisy though

I have the SD DD 3850. Soon after I first got it, I tried dropping her at 2500 RPM in 4th gear on a RCD 585 HP program and no slip (I don't recommend that one). It is definitely rock solid. I do hate the slow shifting speed and it is noisy. Do you lose anything on the ability to shift quickly with SD?

So I can say one thing that is an amazing clutch! I put a few miles on it before my buddy picked it up today and its has some holding power and shifts smooth! I really dont hear any noise from it like you guys were saying though... Anyways i am deff happy with the quality and performance so far we are towing a 6 horse trailer upstate with it saturday so that will be the test

Don't do any speed shifting. I did not notice any change in the shifting between, the factory and South Bend clutch.
