Running with just a downpipe???

I have my Spartan and AFE intake installed and I just removed the cat and dpf. I'm still waiting for my dpf delete pipe to arrive.

My question is can I load a dpf delete tune and run it with just the downpipe for a couple of days?? Will it hurt anything??

I cranked it after the tune loaded. Its actually not that loud.

I had a few turbo cars and heard that with just a downpipe when you shut it off cold air could go back and cause turbo damage. Always seemed kinda unlikely to me.

I always start it up one time when I do exhaust and I started the 6.4 just to hear it and it wasn't loud but your truck will get covered with soot. Anyone know why the 6.4 is so quiet, I heard turbos muffle the exhaust but dang

Factory compound setup makes the exhaust hiss and quiet. No way to get around it really. 4" downpipe and 5" downpipe back exhaust is about as loud as it's going to get. I actually think WOT is pretty loud, but driving around normal it's not that loud....which I personally like.

Its not loud at all straight out downpipe. And if you are smart it is really easy to not make a mess underneath with the soot. I ran mine straight out downpipe for couple days without any problems

let me take ya for a ride in my 6.0 you aint heard loud at. full throttle, in a tunnel. i miss the sound i guess im gonna have to put a stack on it so i can hear it

I was in this situation last week. ran with just the downpipe for a day. not too terribly loud. go easy on the pedal and there's little soot.
