Egt/tune problems

I'm running an edge evolution race tuner with 4 inch exhaust. Both were purchased used. I installed everything and I noticed the Egt display would flash very low (100-200) readings every once in a while. Yesterday it started doing it much more often and then it acted like the truck lost the tune and went back to stock. After shutting the engine off and starting it back up I was able to tell the truck was tuned again. Had plenty of power but once again after a few miles and 1 hard acceleration it was gone. I stopped, retuned the truck back to level 4, had all the power, lost it all within a few miles. Made sure the tuner had a good connection, checked all the connections on the egr sensors. Everything looked good. Could a bad egr sensor cause the random low readings, and in turn, the low readings cause the tuner to basically go into a "limp" mode? Any help would be great.

Can you adjust your low egt safetys? Try raising them and see what it does. It sounds like you have a loose connection causing it to read low, or the tuner itself has a short inside of it somewhere. Not uncommon for edge.

Adjust your alarms up and see if the problem stops. It doesnt fix the problem, but it would keep the truck from going limp while the bigger problem is examined.

I've got the Egt alarm set at 1450 and almost never see it that high. Not sure I want to raise it any higher. It doesn't have a low setting.

O if it doesnt have a low setting then that wont help lol. I would agree, time for the edge to find a new home. There are lots of spartans, and H&S tuners for sale on the forum right now.
