Unplug the MiniMaxx from the ODBII port and the vehicle will start. I have had mine do that and had to get a replacement tuner.

You should not, that I know of. I would get the same "initializing communications" and nothing. H&S was great to deal with. Like you, hit me on the weekend and I panicked. I looked, probed, prodded but nothing. After a while, just thought, try it again and it started. I was afraid to turn it off thinking it would not start again but was fine. Happened a couple days later and got Chris at H&S on the phone. He suggested unplugging it if it happened again and sure enough, 2 days later it did. Unplugged and started right up. Kept doing it more often and after about a week, they sent a new tuner. Never another minutes trouble...

Hope it works out. Did not realize until Chris at H&S told me, once the tune is downloaded, tuner doesn't have to be plugged in...
