How many have deleted the egr coolers

Just as it says, what is the biggest improvement you have noticed. Just curious how many have deleted the egr coolers.

There arent any very big performance improvements. Little quicker throttle response if you do the larger intake elbow. The largest reason for doing this delete is the reliability and the access you gain to being able to work on the engine and other components bolted to the engine.

I got rid of the EGR system, no noticable performance improvement. Just piece of mind knowing that a failure prone component is not longer there and that I'm no longer adding soot into my intake manifold.

From start to finish how long is the job, if you dont run into any setbacks. Are there any advantages of removing them completely vs the block off plates. I am all about making this truck last, i have to keep it atleast five years, i just ordered the ccv mod and the coolant filter. Atleast with the dpf delete and tuner it can be returned to factory specs quick, i dont want to be taking off and putting on egr coolers if the truck has to go in.

Im running the Flo Pro kit and the install was not hard at all. Just take your time and use a small map gas torch on the 2 bolts were the lower cooler unbolts from the cross over pipe! I have seen guys break them and then you have a head ache on your hands I gave them a little heat and they came right off with a gear wrench and i also did not CUT anything just in case i have to put it back in some day. Overall i didnt do it for performance i did it bc of piece of mind bc i tow far away from home all summer racing with a big trailer and getting stuck sucks! Good luck and take you time if you go for it! I got my kit from PTP and they were awsome to deal with

Im doing mine in the next week or two for the same reason as maddenjr, for the piece of mind that I wont get stuck along way from home in the middle of no where because I lost the egr. My egr is turned off, but that doesnt mean it wont fail. Im going to do the flo pro or elite delete kit no wastegate.
