K&N Problems

im running my 6.4 with a k&n intake.. ive been hearing of the k&n ruining turbos? let me know what i should do. take it off? or will i be ok?

I have heard this a lot as well, there will be conflicting opinions but I would replace it with a AFE or S&B.

I would agree to take it off and replace with a AFE Pro-gaurd 7. The K&N filters DO NOT filter down enough for small dirt that gets into the turbo and messes up the compressor wheels and interals of the turbos. If you are really worried about it you could change filters and put on a prefilter as well.

I've had a K&N filter now for about 3yrs and had no issue with it. and i work out in the oilfields. in stead of cleaning them i just bought a new one with a prefilter. I tryed cleaning one but just sprayed to much oil on it so i decied to buy new ones.. just easyer for me..

Thanks for the help, im debating on the new intake right now so im gonna go out and get a pre filter for right now

Do you have a full K&N intake system or just a drop in filter? If you have the whole system I believe S&B makes a replacement filter that will fit the K&N intake. Or measure the filter and get a universal AFE or S&B filter.
