Hey guys. I picked up my 350 a couple of weeks ago and although i wanted to wait until the warranty was up before tuning...i can handle it anymore!
Im wanting to do it in steps, so my question is...
Can i tune and run it tuned without the dpf pipe? Will anything be gained from it?" or is it worth just waiting and buying the complete set up?

You must have a tuner if you delete the DPF. Just running a tuner and no DPF will give you better mileage and more power. Not a bad starter set up and it also keeps the truck from growing oil.

sorry keeps it from growing oil if dpf is removed and tuned for no dpf.

Running a tuner without DPF deleted will give you more power but mileage will not increase as much. Mileage suffers due to fuel being injected into the exhaust to clean the filter. you may see a small increase in mileage but the real bang comes with being tuned and the dpf deleted. You should not turn off the DPF via the tuner and leave the DPF installed. Leads to probs

DPF delete pipes are dirt cheap on Ebay. If you have the money for the Spartan, go ahead and get the delete pipe as well and start enjoying the increased mileage and bada$$ power the Spartan provides.

You can tune the rig with the emissions stuff in place. You are changing th etimeing and adding HP. You still have to deal with the regen and fueling issues that cause "oil gorwth".

running a tune that works with the DPF, works ok, but can start acting up as it continually tries to re-gen....i noticed this recently while running a tune, waiting for my delete pipes to show up. tuner and air intake made it to me 3 days sooner and i couldn't wait. you can find some pretty cheap pipes to get you going.
