Check Engine Light with SCT Livewire but only with certain tunes
So about a week ago i installed the whole package, 5" Flo-Pro turbo back straight pipe exhaust, S&B Intake, and SCT Livewire w/ custom tunes from IDP.. i ran the normal Street tune for 350 miles or 1 tank to give the tranny some time to relearn... so then i put the Extreme Street on it.. got on it once hard, and CEL came one.. hooked up the livewire, it says there are no codes. but the light is still on.. so i reload the tune again.. CEL is no longer there, drive it around for a few miles.. then pops back on a few miles down the road under normal driving.. Still wont show any codes on the livewire.. So i load the extreme race tune, wasn't a big fan of the shifting at first.. but found the right combo.. CEL came on this morning on the way to work, but livewire shows no codes... it will just pop on under normal driving conditions.. CEL never came on with just the regular Street tune.. only with the 2 higher HP tunes they sent me.. Truck runs great.. except when the converter is locked in OD w/ the race tune installed. if i'm not careful, and my foot positioning on the go pedal, the truck will surge, but thats because of my foot.. not the truck... any ideas on the CEL with no codes on my Livewire??

Move up in tunes slowly to let the tranny learn. If you change tunes a lot, drive the truck for about 100 miles to let the tranny learn.
The CEL, I have no clue without a code. I have never had one with Eric's Tuning. Have you tried just clearing the codes with the Livewire instead of loading other tunes? |

yea.. i've tried clearing it with the livewire.. it still stays on.. it tells me there are no codes.. so i'm not sure.. but it only comes on when i load the "extreme tunes" the regular street tune works perfect.. but i prefer the power of the race tune..

I figured out what i was doing wrong.. when i was tuning it.. The livewire was asking me if i had installed and EGR Delete. and i was saying no.. but apparently .. with the IDP tunes.. you have to select yes.. no problems since.. no more codes.. or check engine light..

What firmware is on this device? You will find that under Dealer/Device Info.

When you read codes do you have the truck running or is the truck shut off? I know with that firmware we are able to read DTC codes cause that was with on of the fixes. Let me look into this and I will let you know what I find.
