Banks Six-Gun Question(s)
I'll preface this with the fact that I've been a lurker since I bought my truck in about a year ago... I know most folks here are anti-Banks.
I live in California and bought my truck used with an extended warranty from Ford. I don't want to risk the DPF delete for legal and warranty issues, and I'm not really looking to make the truck into a monster either. I don't need a 250hp boost. In reading a lot of the posts here and at other sites, I see that the Banks Six-Gun is a decent choice for owners wanting to keep the DPF and get a little more power from their 6.4s.
I also see from my research that for a basic 100+hp tune, there isn't much else you need to do to the truck. I'm not interested in changing the exhaust as I like how quiet the truck is and I don't want to draw any extra attention. The stock air filter also sucks enough air for a basic 100hp tune that it won't need to be upgraded from my research.
The rest of the truck is completely stock.
So my question becomes... If I'm just going to do the Banks Six-Gun and probably run it on the 4-5 settings, do I really need the Banks IQ to go with it or is it targeted more for the higher HP applications? The difference between $600 and $1100 is significant enough that if I don't need to spend it, I'd rather not.
Thanks for any input, and I'll have my flame suit on standby for showing interest in a Banks product.
