Livewire tow tune and 6.4
Hey everyone,
Looking for anyone that has had any experience with towing with any tune. I have just added an AFE intake DPF delete and a Livewire to my '08 6.4. I just towed my 18k 5th wheel with it using the tow tune that comes on the Livewire. For the most part everything was ok except when I was at lower speeds and i gently applied throttle or gently lifted off the throttle. When I did, the truck would buck and chug and jerk like there was no tomorrow. This would happen the worst at around 50 mph, but happened almost through the whole range. Any answers? FYI, I'll probably go with a tune from Innovative because I beleive it is a transmission tune issue. |

Congrats on your upgrades! I have spartan and expierience simular simptoms occaisionally! When it has occured I let off the throttle let everything settle down and gently roll back into the throttle! I usally only expierience this @ 10-20 mph!

I used to have the problem of axle wrap from a dead start (sounds like your problem). Added airbags and it has helped. This was something completely different. I could let off or put it to the floor and it would smooth out, but I could not drive it "normally".

Mine only does it really slow (20 MPH range) with the TC locked and low throttle angle, which more or less throttle it goes away. Which the only time I see it is pulling through the lease at work. So I speed a little so it wont do it.
I run the Innovative Tow Tune. |
