ok Help?
here is the dilemma, a common one i'm sure.
i wanna do a dpf delete, from the down pipe back, using a 5" pipe with muffler...dont know if removing the CAT is standard when doing this.and an air intake. i think i want the H&S mini max tuner. i would like some more HP and need better MPG. however i keep reading about voided warranties, blown trannies and the like so im really on the fence.... on the one hand i would like to be able to take a Toyota Hybrid Highlander off the line at the light, but i need to feel secure that these motor issues from " tunning " are not as prevalent as they seem... im driving an 08 f350. oh and what is the difference in removing the down pipe or just removing everything from the bottom of down-pipe, and are the flange bolts at bottom of down pipe welded? |

tuning your truck will end up giving you much more power and better fuel mileage. as for the blown trannies and such, it depends on how you drive it. now i know some trucks are more likely to have problems than others will, but that with any vehicle. if you don't race from every stop light you come to, your tranny should be fine. i'm not saying if you baby the truck nothing will go wrong, but it definitely helps. i've had my truck tuned for about 20k miles and had no issues with it.
if you do a turbo back exhaust it includes the full exhaust plus replaces the restrictive stock downpipe. if you do a downpipe back exhaust it is just the remainder of it. an aftermarket dp isn't necessary but it can help lower egt's and just help flow a little better. |

It is very common to pull both the cat and DPF at the same time since it is more beneficial to have them both gone as well as much easier than just removing the DPF alone. You will absolutely love the Mini Maxx, it is unreal how much better the truck will run. I wouldnt worry about your trans, it will be just fine as long as you dont abuse it.
