Custom tunes for 6.4? HELP
i have reciently put a mini maxx, exhaust, and intake on my 2008 6.4. i see lots of people talking about "custom tunes". i have never had a tuner before so i am a little confused. how does this work? how do you get them? should i get one or just stick with the tunes that came with the mini maxx? is there any other tunes that will help with fuel mileage? any answers would be helpful

Guess the first question is what are you looking for in a custom tune?
Are you happy with the way you newly installed MM tuner works on you rig? Some of us are looking for More power some are looking for a better shifting trans, custom tuning run the gambit. The H&S website should be able to answer you questions. |

You can run KEM tunes.

KEM will do a custom tune for you. Go to the web site. They have a price list there. Once you pay for the tune, they will contact you via email, ask want you want, then email the tune to you.

I just recently purchased an SCT Livewire TS for my 2010 Ford F250 (6.4L diesel). I have the basic preloaded programs, but am wondering where to get a custom tune created. I would like to be able to use the variable vane turbo as an exhaust brake when I let off the accelerator. I know they have the programming for other Ford diesels, but does anyone know where I can get a custom tune on the SCT?

I just switched from kem the h&s and I was happy with kem until I installed the mini. I will be sticking with h&s from now on. My truck is quieter smoother more fuel efficient and more powerful with h&s

I didn't have any problems with my exhaust brake tune. I haven't run it a bunch, but there's a guy on the H&S forums who runs his all the time |

You just need to monitor backpressure. I havent heard that either but I know most exhaust brake setups like on dodge the backpressure kicks up high when it kicks in.
OP, as for tunes, I would say you are better of running Gearhead tunes |

I haven't been able to come anywhere near the braking power of the Cummins VGT setup. It does help though.
