Drain Water Separator

I have an 09 f250 and the drain water separator keeps coming on. When i open the valve to drain it nothing ever comes out?????

The drain opening may be clogged. You may need to change the filter and wipe out the inside of the filter housing and run a pipe cleaner up through the drain hole while the filter is out. It is not uncommon for the 'water in fuel' sensor to go bad. They are not that expensive but that would not explain why fuel will not drain.

So just unscrew the the 3 screws and clean everything out real good?

That will hopefully do it. You may see a 'waxy' substance in there. That is where the fuel separated during the colder weather(along with dirt/grime). I'll bet that is what is clogging up the drain hole.
