Hello, just wondering if anyone can provide info on what are the best performance mods for fuel economy. I have an '08 6.4 which gets about 8-9miles. Keep in mind it is an F-550 Wrecker. I am definitely going with a DPF delete and also thinking about an EGR block off due to the EGR busting twice before 70k miles. :dunno:
A good tune with the DPF off is the biggest MPG saver. The cold air Mods help. You can gain some more advantage by trying to get the EGT's even lower than the tune gets them. The cold side Pipe can be replaced by one that flows more and cooler air. Supposedly an airdog fuel pump can help some by delivering cooler and cleaner air to the injectors. Oil bypass and synth oil may gain you some efficiency for the same reasons.
