launching a 6.4 on track

got a 08 f250 with a 4" exhaust, s&b intake, sct tunner,8" lift on 35's... looking into getting a custom tune and run it on the track one of this days to see what it does
who makes a resonable priced tune that will be good for everyday driving? and i hear that people launch their truck on 4wheel drive? that seems kind of scarry... will the tranny hold up? what do you guys think about rivercity tunes?

I have an 8" lift with 38s and have made about 12 passes and a couple pulls on a dyno all on a stock tranny. And my daily driver was the 275 tune from Spartan. On the strip I used 4hi and didn't have any issues and still don't. But I
Have gone on the strip since upgrading my trans and doing other work to the truck but you will be fine.

As for river citys tunes i haven't heard anything bad from them but most people run innovative diesel tunes or KEM now for the SCT tuner platform

do you switch it out of 4hi after you gain some speed or do you just leave it?

Just leave it till you are at the end of the track slowing down. It won't disengage till you slow down anyway.

I believe 4wd doesn't disengage until you are below 30 MPH.

With mine i put it 4x4, build about 10psi then wack it! Moves like a freight train. In 2 wheel drive it blows the tires off.
