another tuner/intake question

I have searched but cant find exactly what Im looking for. I know its probably recommended to get an aftermarket intake when going with a tuner. I will be getting the minimaxx in the near future and deleting DOC/DPF. Is it ok to run up to the wild setting on the stock intake? I keep seeing the posts of problems running the Hot Damn setting with the stock intake, but didnt know about the lesser horsepower tunes. If I have to have to get the intake can you give me a brand and approximate cost? Seems like S&B may be ok. I just wasnt planning on additional costs. Seems I overlooked this part.

You should be fine running with a stock intake on the wild setting. S&B would be the cheapest choice for a complete aftermarket intake system, but you could get away with just doing a high flow drop in filter to the factory box if you are trying to keep a budget. Let us know if we can help.

What brand drop in filter is a good brand? I judt dont want a bunch of crap to get sucked in to the intake.

I would recommend AFE with the Pro Guard 7 filter for the drop in.

aFe OE Drop In Air Filter Pro Guard 7

I have the AFE Drop in. Fine so far. I have ran the X-Street from Eric and the filter minder has not moved. I use to pull it in to about 50% with the tow tune towing, now I dont.

You can get by with the stock intake, but an AFE or S&B would help out quite a bit. If you are on a tight budget, just go with a drop in filter. S&B is the biggest bang for the buck by far.
