New Spartan Updates vs Old Tuning Files
I'm sure this has been covered before but I'm going to ask it again.
I don't have the V2 software installed yet, but I am going to once the new Tuning Update is released. I only have Level 1 and run the 250 tune all the time. Once I update the software, then install the new tuning update, can I have the old 250 and the new 250 on there at the same time? I am worried that I may not like the early lockup on the new 250, but want to at least be able to try it. I have a job 1 truck, and I believe there were some tuning adjustments aimed at problems with job 1's, so I really feel that I need to get the latest of everything. But I hate the lockup on the 210TP that I have now, and if the new 250 is going to run like that, it will be a deal breaker. I think maybe the 37's have something to do with the lockup being weird for me. Perhaps the early lockup would be better with stock tires. Hope my post made sense.... I gues long story short, could have have New 250 and Old 250 on the unit after the v2 upgrade....? |

Once you go to a V2 tuning file, you cannot go back. You could update now, before the release of our upcoming tuning files update and go ahead and get the regular 250 file. That way you could save that batch of tuning files (which will work with the V2 software) on your computer somewhere, and go back to them if you don't like the enhanced lock-up. I believe that most will be happy with the enhanced lock-up simply because of the mileage gains that will be seen. That's just my $.02
If something doesn't make sense, just let me know! |

I think I already downloaded the update phalanxupdate201(?). That's how I found out I needed V2. good idea about having it put on there now. So the 250 on that last update is the same as the one I got back in February of last year?
I guess now the quesiton would be, can you mix and match tunes from different updates? I think everyone has unzipped the tuning files and explored the files. Could I just take a tune from the last update and add it to the tuning files folder and have the new and old 250 on the dashdaq or on the sd card at the same time? Or do I need to switch ALL of the files? Maybe I need 2 sd cards. old and new. |

I would email tech about that. I am not 100% sure.

This is all getting way to confusing to me. Can't Spartan just make it simple for us computer illiterate guys? I don't want to go back to school to run my dash daq.

Guess I better get some computer training from my teenagers.

It's really not that difficult. If you have the V2 update already, all you will do is get the tuning files off of our website when they become available.

Can you suggest a tech to email? You may PM it if you'd rather.
