6.4 info needed

I am thinking about taking over my brothers 6.4 08 cc 4wd.... all stock. We are in California so I need to stay with the smog crap..... what kind of power can I get out of the 08 with the stock filtration system but with a tuner..... think I can run a aftermarket exhaust with the dpf system working right... what will the stock trans hold reliable....please let me know on what you would do for good HP with a california truck

Do some searching here and you're going to see not many guys go for performance and plan on keeping the dpf. Most would rather delete and tune, then return back to stock if they need to. There's a couple guys that are happy with Banks products and that will let you keep your emissions equipment. The only exhaust you could run is dpf back which is pretty pointless. The transmission is tough and can take quite a bit of power. Most all of the tuners out there have dpf on tunes but they are lower power levels and can lead to more frequent regens.
