Just Want To Delete DPF/Need Tuner?
I want to delete the dpf on my truck. From what I gather here you also have to add a tuner. I am quite happy with the hp and performance so I am not looking for any real increase in those areas. Which tuner, considering what I want to do, would be best? Price? Finally, I am not able to get under the truck due to a back problem. Will diesel shops do the work when they are violating federal regs by removing the dpf?

Yes most Shops will but they want you to sign a Waiver Form!

Yes you would need a tuner....many to choose from. You can spend a little or you can spend a lot, just remember you get what you pay for. A quick search on here will give you more than enough info to confuse you.
. You might be able to find a small shop that would accommodate taking the DPF off for you, but that's unlikely given the financial risk should they get caught. Also should you need to get warranty work done on your truck everything has to be put back to stock which would mean an added expense to take it back to shop and have it all swapped around.

i think the best bang for your bucks is going to be a H&S XRT like this:2008-2010 Ford 6.4L XRT Race Tuner
you can keep it on the stock HP with the DPF removed... if you do it that way you wouldnt need gauges. still recommended but you wouldnt need them... you would also need a DPF/DOC delete pipe... we can give you a package deal price on both if your interested -Raul |

Is there not a cheaper tuner option for those that just want to delete the DPF?

The SCT Livewire with the base tuning is the way to go. You have a choice of 4 programs, DPF on or off, and you can upgrade to custom tunes later if you decide to. Give us a call if we can help.

you could go with a dpf/cat delete pipe and an xrt pro. That would be a good combo

DPF-R and a Delete pipe will probably the cheapest non-tuner method.
