Sartan or H&S

What Tuner do you Guys prefer? I am asking because I see a lot of Guys selling their Spartan Tuners, I looked at the H&S Mini Maxx and like it, I will add one later on with the DPF Delete System to My 08 F450, I want better mileage and lil more HP/Torque with this Big Truck, No Racing though, mainly for Towing and better MPG. Sorry about the Misspelling in the Topic, I just caught it.

I love my Blackmaxx, except for the TC lockup speeds.

what is wrong with the tc lock speeds, Im getting ready to order an intake, exhaust just havent made up my mind on the black or mini maxx.

45mph was unusable, as the TC locked and unlocked with the slightest movement of the pedal, 50 locks @ 60, 55 locks @ 59, didn't even try 60. Talked to a techs at H&S, (and emailed too) and both said that's the way it goes sometimes. Not really what I was hoping for. That said, the unit is great, shift on the fly (for me) is the only way to go. The power is awesome, too

I have had both spartan first the DD displays more but you pay for every vehicle you change it to you will only be able to run spartan tunes with the latest upgrade and you pay for tire size changes. The black maxx has shift on the fly does tire size changes can tranfer from one vehicle to another free can run different tunes (KEM) and still monitors most of what the average joe needs. Power wise i ran the big tunes on both but you can find good tunes for both units that will do what you want!

Just for informational purposes: TC lock speed is based on a light throttle input at minimal load (higher load will cause a higher lock speed). The speed will also be affected if you are adjusting the tire size during the download. Adjusting for larger than stock tires will make your speedometer read fast, thus causing a 50mph lock tune to shift close to 55mph. Also keep in mind that the transmission must be at full operating temperature in order to use full function of the torque converter.

i would say go h&s. i was sold on the spartan until i realized they dont let you load custom tunes and wont adjust their tunes for you. the main reason i was going with them was the gauges. since then i found a used sct on the cheap and got a tune from kem and it works great. now im gonna wait til i find a really good deal on a used dashdaq and use it as gauges

In light of the recent Spartan tune Limitations, H&S is the best Game in town, at this time.

I have a H&S MiniMaxx with a KEM 75hp tune for just the purpose you wanted. Got the package, pipe and tuner from Aaron at Rudy's and of course the tune from KEM. Smokes only a little when you stomp down on it and will increase the MPG about 12% and no fuel in the crankcase.
