Every now and then my mini will buy out and give me close to same reading.
The funny thing is that, that's not hot coolant, thats very cold coolant.
Don't know why it happens. You can try H&Ss website. They have forums that moderators read.

How cold is it outside?

Most companies have a parameter that defuels until the engine oil and coolant are warm

We have seen this one a few times. There is a communication error between the truck and the Mini Maxx at some point during initialization. This causes the coolant reading on the Mini Maxx to peg at one end of the temperature monitoring spectrum. It will also cause a "hot coolant" defuel due to the way we do some of the calculations inside the Mini Maxx itself. We are looking into a solution for this, but at this point have no ETA on availability. For now, just unplug the unit and plug it back in, and it will reset it. It should only happen on very rare occasions when the variables are just right to cause it.

That same thing has happened to me twice. If you have the Mini hard wired to the truck just toggle the switch that is on the OBD II port reader and it will reset itself. Once the mini resets drvie it as you normally would.
