higher the number, quicker it will shift. so, 3.73 would be quicker for 1/4 mile..mpg on highway, will be less though, because it will have shifted through all the gears quick, rather than space them out. what do you have, the 2011?

The only time I ever see better mileage from 3.55's from 3.73's is if you are on level ground and never towing anything.

Depends on tire size and the power level you are at.

I can pull some some 3.73 trucks with similar mods to me. Most of the time it happens around 70ish is where the 3.55's start to kick in.

When I used to race cars the more power you put down the lower gear you needed to not run out of rpm before you got to the end of the track. Like a 450rwhp car can be good with 3.73's or 4:10's , while a 650rwhp car would run a lot better with say a 3.55 or 3.27 is what i used on my big block mustangs.

3.55's seem to be a good gear ratio for a 600+ horsepower truck running a 30-32" tall tire. My 3.73's and Toyo Proxes (just under 32" on the wheel) did not work very well at the 1/4 mile track. My 1/8 times were awesome, but my back half wasn't what it should have been. I was running low 12.80's consistently with an 8.05-8.10 1/8 mile time. My 1/4 should have been in the 12.65-12.70 range with that 1/8 mile time. I am now running 33" Toyo AT's on my truck, so I'll get to see what difference they make in the back half when the weather warms up. If it comes down to it, I'll be re-gearing to 3.55's and going with 305/50/20 Nitto 420S's.

The right tire and tire pressure. Just run 4 hi to the lights but turn back to 2wd before you turn off to come back
