Questions Regarding SCT Livewire Extreme

I have an 08 F250 that has exceeded the warranty and I'm ready to do some mods. I'm wanting a tuner that is updatable with custom tunes and will turn off the regen cycle so that I can delete the DOC/DPF. I've been researching the SCT 9625OR, the H&S Mini Maxx and the Spartan. Honestly, I don't want to break the bank for the Spartan even though I know it is a great tuner and is probably the most sought after right now.

My question is this... If I don't care for the fancy DashDaq display and the 12 some odd tunes that will never get used, or some of the "cool" things the Mini Maxx can do, isn't the SCT Livewire Extreme packaged with a delete exhaust just as capable with custom tuning from KEM, Innovative, etc. in deleting the DOC/DPF and creating massive amounts of RWHP and Torq while being able to safely monitor EGT's, RPM, etc at $350 to $900 less cost? Im just looking for people who have run the SCT and others and what they thought of it such as useability, tuning, updates and most importantly to me, mileage gains!

Sounds reasonable. SCT is one of the big three.

the livewire is a very old system.. its very bulky and you have nowhere to mount it but the windshield with a suction cup.... i would def go with the mini max over the livewire. or if you want to go a step further i would go with the XRT Pro hand held tuner and a set of cheap gauges...

if you were going with the XCT i would def opt for the TSX...

You can do like I did and buy a used SCT Livewire off of ebay and then buy the tunes you want and will use the most from KEM.

I bought my SCT Livewire for $110.

They are big and bulky, but they do serve the same purpose, and I found a satelite radio mount from best buy that tucks it in the corner where there is no blind spot.

Will any regular SCT Livewire work with the 6.4 as long as the custom tuning is for the 6.4?

Are you asking if you can take it from one 6.4 and use it on another?

No I'm asking that if I were to do JohnnyRecondo said and purchase one off ebay that were say for F150/F250/F350/Mustang/ETC. and then have KEM tunes installed to it will it recognize my 6.4 and work properly?

SCT has come out with a new tuner, it still mounts on the dash but is about half the size of a Livewire. It a SCT touch screen xtreme P/N8900. Look at SCTflash.com. I don't have one but have heard good things about em. Either way you won't be disapointed.

I'm pretty sure you can, but don't want to swear to it and have you waste money. I'd check with KEM, they should be able to answer that for you.
