trans recomendations
i have a 2010 with about 15k on it, last night messing around at 80 the trans slipped went from 2k rpm to 4k, then this morning pullin in my drive way i put the truck in reverse.... and nothing then in drive it revved and banged in gear then reverse was fine. so i do alot of hunting and fishing and i dont want to be 3 hrs away pulling my boat and my truck crap out on me, so should i buy a new sun coast or just rebulid mine before it blows up with a sun coast rebiuld? i was running my idp extreme race tune in both cases

I would go with a complete unit from suncoast or elite diesel. The rebuild kit is basically the same thing your gonna get in a suncoast trans and will serve the same purpose and probably hold all the power you'll ever need but by the time you pay for it to be installed I don't really see it as being worth the savings

dont you have a warranty? Shoot, the 6.4 trnsmissions can take a beating,I would see if I could get a dealer to replace it under warranty

Talk to the dealership and if it's messed up buy the suncoast parts and have them upgrade it for just the parts provided by you. That way you don't have to pay for labor

Well, as I know of, that only makes 4 of us on the site...pretty rare group. LOL Good luck with the trans! |

for that trans to fail so quick there has to be bigger issues. There are lots of us on this site that beat on our trucks day in and day out and the trans lasts a whole lot longer than that. I would get it replaced under warranty.

Get the Suncoast, it is a GREAT transmission...... Not unbreakable, but MUCH stronger than stock!
My Suncoast transmission lasted ~ 22,000 miles and is being looked at as we speak. I am guessing the imput shaft broke....... Mike |
