Combution pressures pressurizing the system?

Yeah head gaskets would be my guess also.

the truck seems to be running fine though, if the head gasket was blown would it be lacking power?

I can only speak for my 6.0. I blew mine pulling my camper, pulled over flashed back to stock then finished my trip to TS. I drove easy and kept boost low but I couldnt really tell any power difference. Stock is to slow anyway. So it is a possibility that is your problem.

From what I can remember. Good times. My wife and I kinda let loose since it was the first time going anywhere without our son.
