H&S vs Spartan
New to the 6.4 world, so im wondering what would be the best programmer to go with. Are there any downfalls to either programmer and which one would yall go with? Im wanting to keep the tranny stock, but want to delete everything. Also, as far as exhaust goes, do i need to get TBE or downpipe back?

What all are you looking for in a tuner? I recommend Spartan of course, but are there any specific things you are looking for other than fuel mileage?

just to delete the emissions and give it as much power as the stock tranny can hold.

The Spartan tuner with a basic level 1 license is going to give you 9 DPF delete tunes out of the box up to 250 horsepower, including a 210 tow performance tune if you ever need to tow something heavy. I believe the H&S tuner only comes with 4 tunes. The stock tranny has proven to hold up to our 310 tune on a lot of trucks. The 275 tune seems to be the limit though. I don't know of anyone who has torn their tranny up with our 250 tune unless they were abusing it or doing something competition related. We actually just recently released a 300 tune that a lot of people have been very pleased with as a daily driver and highway tune. That tune comes with the level 3 license ($400 upgraded), along with the 275, 310, and 8 EGR delete tunes.
Another perk of our tuner is that it has a high resolution touch screen monitor that can monitor quite a few parameters. You can choose between 49 different Ford specific parameters to monitor right out of the box, not to mention dozens of other generic parameters. |
