Installed everthing!

Received my shipment from Spartan yesterday with the CAT/DPF delete and S&B Intake and Dashdaq. Installed everything last night with the help of 2 friends and heated garage and beer. Took us about 3 hours all together with a few breaks. As mentioned, the worst part is taking off the DPF/CAT...tis a beeoootch! I went ahead and loaded the 250 DPF off tune from the start, HUGE difference! Went out and did the transmission relearn process right away, shifting is not nearly as bad as people make it out to be in some forums... I actually like the firmer shifting points myself, not to mention the protection it offers your transmission.

Question, do folks run the 250 as a daily driver? Seems to me you could?

Jake

congrats. I run the 210 due to the safeties built in to it and i tow often. but many run the 250 for a dd tune and say you get the best mpg out of it. I didn't do a trans relearn and it shifts great, but i also heard that the trans is always learning as well. I also agree that the shifts are no where as bad as people make them out to be. firm but not harsh

I did all that yesterday too, completely different truck now. I wish I would have went with the AFE intake instead, I wasn't too impressed with the S&B. The dpf came out pretty easy for me since I only have 8500 miles on the truck, the air intake took longer to do. I am running the 210 tow for now but after I tow my camper I will be running the250 tune for daily driving.

A lot of guys run the 250 as a DD, as do I. As long as you can keep your foot off the floorboard you'll see some good improvements of fuel economy.

Its sure different to see puffs of black smoke when you lay into it a bit!
I am trying to get used to the traditional diesel smell, its everywhere now! When I am going slow I smell it in the cab a bit... wondering if it is leaking from somewhere?

I didnt mind the S&B intake, good instructions and easily an improvement from the factory version. I had an AFE before, it was nice but not much different aside from some pretty aluminum.
