EGR Delete

What's the gains? I just got my truck and what i see over and over is DPF/Cat Delete and a programmer. I'm after more MPG and the power is a bonus. The dash says that it's getting 11.2mpg, I filled it up last night and will check by hand next time I fill up.

Depends on what kit you do. There are blocker plates, there is an EGR cooler delete, and there is a full delete w/wastegate.

Doing the plates or the EGR cooler delete is going to keep back pressure up there. Yes they are providing safety, but at the same time they could potentially hurt you due to higher back pressure potential.


EGR Blocker Plates

Pros: cost effective, install much easier/shorter than other options
Cons: doesn't completely remove the EGR cooler, potential increase in back pressure

EGR Coolers Delete

Pros: cost effective, allows for complete removal of EGR coolers
Cons: potential increase in back pressure, installation is more difficult than blocker plates

EGR Delete w/Wastegate

Pros: complete removal of EGR system, relieves back pressure
Cons: expensive, installation is very difficult (easier with cab up)


That is a pretty basic idea, but it should help!

Ya that's a good comparison.have u heard anything more on the single turbo wide open performance is working on? I think I'm almost more interested in that than getting the elite kit. And is just run a basic egr delete

Haven't heard much in the last few weeks. I do know they are getting ready to start doing some work on an actual truck. Hopefully by Spring they will have a kit ready.
