black maxx question

Hey guys I just put on my 5" exhaust and black maxx. Was just wondering if it is supposed to stay on when I turn the truck off and if not any ideas why it might be? I got it wired to the purple ignition cord...

If it is like my Minni there is a switch on the dongle that plugs into the OBD port. One position will draw power form the port, and the other position will draw it only when the ignition is on.

Make sure you have it wired to the solid purple wire (no stripes). If it is, and you are still staying powered up, get a test light and test for voltage at the purple wire key on and key off. If you are getting constant power at that purple wire, you may need to find another keyed ignition source.

I have that switch as well. Have to figure out which way draws from where. Yes it is connected into the solid purple line. That line was connected to another line that goes up to the trailer brake controller. ????

What other ignition source would I use. I think I am getting g constant power because when I was hooking it up I kept getting like real little shocks. Is that supposed to have constant power to it?

Looks like you will have to find a key on hot wire. The solid pruple wire should have worked. Check again. There is also a purple wire there with a yellow tracer. I almost used that one myself. It's dark under there..................................

That purple line was hook in with the brake controller. It turns on and off with the ignition now. If the ignition is off and I flip the switch on the adapter should it turn on?

The Minni and Black Maxx get their power from two sources. One is the purple wire, key on and the second from the port itself. If you flip the switch down it will turn on the tuner with the key off.
