H&S Mini Maxx EGTs too high???

So, I always had issues with the hotdamn tune, My truck would throw a low fuel rail pressure code and start idling like crap. At the time I installed the mild tune set and all was good except for my horribly low speed shifting and my EGTs that would climb way too quick. My truck also smokes too much, I watch videos of H&S tuned trucks doing 1/4 mile runs and they leave a fraction of the smoke I do.
Today I noticed an updated software revision for the minimaxx and I was hoping the new tunes would resolve my issues.
I loaded the hotdamn tune, set it to hot wiht 45mph lockup and set out to do the trans tuning runs exactly as recommended. To make sure I got my throittle position right I set the tuner to display the throttle position. The truck ran like a bat out of hell while at 25%, then at 50% it detuned due to high egts at like 30mph. then the wot run detuned like crazy. I shot a quick vid to give you guysd an idea. Also, FYI my truck is a 2010 with 6k on the odo.

sorry, I was having trouble getting the vid posted.
The tuner is set to default detune temp of 1450*f and it exceeds that in a split second.

I'm not sure but that looks about right. I think 1550 or so is alright for short periods. Do you have a aftermarket intake?

afe stage 2 si intake, AFE full flange back exhaust and the tuner.

I just figured I'd be able to do a quick run without it having to detune... I think I will go back to the mild tune again, I actually think it is faster because it doesn't hit the fuel cut nearly as soon. My boost gets a lot higher on the mild tune as well. If this is normal, it is very disapoinitng and if it isn't normal, then what is the problem?? I probably barely made it to 50mph in that run, I see guys running high 12s at over 100mph and I hear no beeps in their vids.

so, it sounds like the EGT detune is only really used for towing tunes were you don't want to hold high temps for long periods, but a couple second in the 1700* range isn't going to hurt anything?? I'd just rather not pull into the ford dealer with all my goodies removed and try to explain some melted pistons and melted turbines! LOL

i think a lot of guys turn the defuel option off while at the track.but thats a risk of breaking stuff if you do.

how much does your truck smoke? at launch I will completely cover a couple cars and leave them with 0 visability... I will try to get a vid of my smoke situation.

I wonder what kind of EGTs the spartan guys are getting...
