DPF delete, What do I have to do???

I'm hearing all these stories about the DPF..... What do I have to do to get rid of it, and why should I get rid of it, and Doesn't it void the warrantee if I get rid of it, isn't there a Pipe I have to take off as well????

Tell me everything I need to know.

I don't ever plan to run the race tunes, and that means Ever!!!! I don't have the need for speed in my F450, if I want speed, I'll buy a Mustang.. and I don't want to blow smoke all over Gods creation Neither... I just don't get that!!!! I'm looking for about 100 HP for wehn I'm in a ste of Hills, and I need just a little more power, I've been running my 7.3 chipped up 80HP for over 11 years and I watch my EGT's like a hawk when on hills pulling long grades...I'm just interested in all the HIPE over the DPF delete issue..

The black smoke is actually just excessive fuel, if you tuned percise enough you wouldnt even have that much. I would go with a dpf/cat delete and would run a edge tuner( i wouldnt usually tell anyone to run anything but spartan or H&s but the display on the edge is very nice and can watch your parameters easily. IM pretty sure edge has something right around a 140 hp. If money isnt an issue i would say go with H&s or spartan. Spartan has more parameter capabilitys but H&s has the shift on the fly. You can even runa no power tune and will see a acceleration difference. I usually leave my truck on mild and just love it, i dont get really any black smoke. Also you are going to want to do an intake!, and would even block of the egr. SImply you could just go do a delte piupe and average tune , but all that is going to make your truck like you alot more

Theres tons of info here so make sure you do plenty of reading before you pull the trigger on a kit. Feel free to give me a call or shoot me a PM if you have any questions that you cant find answers to.

Your goal sounds the same as mine. I have an 08 450 as well and went with Aarons delete package a H&S mini and a 5 inch flo-pro with a muffler. Mileage went up about 1.5mpg on the mild tune. Power is unbelieveable. The whole set up is about $1400. You can set the defuel parameters one of which is EGT another is Boost.

Event on Hot tune there is little to no smoke unless you turn all the horses loose from the get-go. I also have the 45mph lockup tune in the tranny.

Cheers

And YES, you will void your warranty. Tuning or exhaust will void it. I would love to put exhaust on my truck and put my tuner on but I personally can't afford to void my warranty. Just something to think about. Like they say, you have to pay to play.
